Do good while enjoying your Christmas treats – the public is invited to suggest beneficiaries for this year's Åland Christmas seal donation

Åland Christmas seals with candy treats

This year’s Christmas seals from Åland Post will be issued on 23 October and, as always, the proceeds from the sale will be donated to charity. This year, the public is invited to nominate an Åland association or organization in need of financial support for its activities. Designed by illustrator Alexander Lindén, the sheet featuring Christmas treats complements this year’s Christmas stamps.

Since 1993, the sale of Christmas seals has been a financial support for Åland associations and organizations to realize many important and helpful projects. For the first time, the public can influence the decision on which organization will benefit from the 2020 Christmas seal proceeds. Nominations are accepted by Åland Post Stamps until 31 January 2021. A brief motivation for the nomination is desirable but not compulsory. The Christmas seal contribution is donated to Åland associations and organizations in need of financial support for activities or projects that benefit the Åland society. The more Christmas seals we sell, the greater the amount donated by Åland Post in the spring of 2021.

The self-adhesive Christmas seals may be used as decoration on Christmas greetings and presents. Sold in sheets of 20 seals, the four types of Christmas treats illustrated on the seals are candy canes, caramels, green-marmalade balls and star-shaped pastries, all associated with Åland Christmas.

Order the Christmas seals at, by letter to Åland Post Stamps, PO Box 1100, AX-22111 Mariehamn, Åland, Finland, or by phone: +358 18 636 641.

Åland Post accepts nominations of beneficiaries by post to Åland Post Stamps, PO Box 1100, AX-22111 Mariehamn, or by e-mail to stamps(a) until 31 January 2021.
